UpdraftPlus WordPress Plugin Reflected Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.24.12. The vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts could be executed if an admin user is tricked into clicking a link or performing a similar action.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the UpdraftPlus WordPress plugin to version 1.25.1 or a newer patched version.
