Essential Addons for Elementor Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in Pricing Table Widget

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Essential Addons for Elementor plugin, specifically in the Pricing Table Widget. This issue affects all versions through 6.1.12 and arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes. Authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can exploit this vulnerability by injecting arbitrary web scripts into pages, which are then executed when users access the affected page.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with contributor-level access or higher can add a Pricing Table Widget to a page. By including JavaScript code in the 'Tooltip Content' parameter and saving the changes, the injected script will be executed when the page is accessed.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Essential Addons for Elementor plugin to version 6.1.13 or later.
