Master Addons Elementor Addons Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Master Addons - Elementor Addons with White Label, Free Widgets, Hover Effects, Conditions, & Animations plugin for WordPress. This vulnerability affects all versions through 2.0.6.7 and arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in the plugin's Tooltip module. As a result, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which will be executed when users access the affected pages.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with contributor-level access or higher can use the Tooltip module of the Master Addons Elementor Addons plugin. After injecting a script through the Tooltip module, the script will execute when the injected Tooltip is accessed.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Master Addons - Elementor Addons with White Label, Free Widgets, Hover Effects, Conditions, & Animations plugin to version 2.0.6.8 or later.
