A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the WordPress List Category Posts plugin, affecting versions prior to 0.90.3. The issue arises because the plugin fails to properly validate and escape certain shortcode attributes before rendering them on pages or posts. This flaw enables users with contributor roles and above to inject malicious scripts that are saved and executed later.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the post or page.
Users are advised to update the List Category Posts WordPress plugin to version 0.90.3 or later.
