MISP Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability via Global Menu Links

Vulnerability

A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in MISP versions prior to 2.4.193. This issue arises because the 'menu_custom_right_link' parameter can be set through the user interface, allowing attackers with admin privileges to inject malicious JavaScript into a global menu link. The vulnerability has been addressed in version 2.4.193 by restricting the 'menu_custom_right_link' parameter to command-line interface (CLI) use only.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting attacks, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to MISP version 2.4.193 or later to address this vulnerability.
