Hitachi USB-ConverterCable Driver Insecure DLL Loading Vulnerability Allowing Arbitrary Code Execution

Vulnerability

A vulnerability has been identified in the Hitachi USB-CONVERTERCABLE DRIVER that allows local attackers to potentially execute arbitrary code or disclose information on affected systems. This vulnerability arises from insecure loading of dynamic link libraries (DLLs) and requires user interaction, such as opening a malicious file, to be exploited.

Remediation

The USB-CONVERTERCABLE DRIVER has reached its End of Life and is no longer supported. Hitachi recommends retiring this product.
