Intel Server M50FCP Family BIOS Privilege Escalation Vulnerability

A vulnerability allowing uncontrolled search path elements has been identified in some BIOS and System Firmware Update Packages for the Intel Server M50FCP family, prior to version R01.02.0002. This vulnerability may enable a privileged user to escalate privileges through local access.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized privilege escalation.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the BIOS and System Firmware Update Package for Intel Server M50FCP family to version R01.02.0002 or later. The update is available for download from the Intel Download Center.
