IBM Jazz Foundation Plaintext Password Vulnerability Allowing Information Leakage

A vulnerability exists in IBM Jazz Foundation versions 7.0.2, 7.0.3, and 7.1.0, where password fields are not masked during entry. This oversight could enable a physical user to access sensitive information by observing unprotected passwords as they are typed.

Impact

The vulnerability could lead to unauthorized exposure of sensitive information, specifically passwords, which could be observed in plaintext during entry.

Remediation

Users on IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management versions 7.0, 7.0.1, or any version prior to 7.0.2 should upgrade to version 7.0.2, as earlier versions have reached end of life. Users can also upgrade to the latest version 7.1.0 and apply the iFix001. For those on version 7.0.3, iFix011 is available, and version 7.0.2 users can download iFix032.
