Intel Ethernet Connection I219 Series Stack-Based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability Allowing Denial-of-Service

Vulnerability

A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in some drivers for Intel Ethernet Connection I219 Series, prior to version 12.19.1.39. This vulnerability may allow an authenticated user to cause a denial-of-service condition through local access.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability can lead to a denial-of-service condition, causing the system to become unresponsive or unavailable.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Intel Ethernet Adapter Complete Driver Pack to version 28.2 or later. The update is available for download from the Intel Download Center.
