A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the BuddyBoss Platform plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 2.8.50. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in the 'bp_nouveau_ajax_media_save' function. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and above to inject arbitrary scripts into pages, which are executed when users access the affected pages. Although this vulnerability was partially addressed in version 2.8.41, it remains a concern in versions 2.8.50 and earlier.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.
Users are advised to update the BuddyBoss Platform plugin to version 2.8.51 or later.
