- <= 1.7.5
A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the WordPress Survey & Poll plugin, specifically in versions through 1.7.5. The issue arises from inadequate escaping of user-supplied data in the 'id' attribute of the 'survey' shortcode, allowing authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject additional SQL queries. This exploitation could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive information in the database.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, where an attacker can manipulate SQL queries to extract sensitive data from the database.
To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Contributor-level access or higher can use the 'survey' shortcode with an injected 'id' parameter. The lack of proper input sanitization allows the attacker to append malicious SQL code, which is then executed by the database.
No known patch is available. It is recommended to uninstall the affected plugin and find a replacement.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
