GeoDirectory WP Business Directory and Classified Listings Directory Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the GeoDirectory WP Business Directory Plugin and Classified Listings Directory plugin for WordPress. This issue affects all versions through 2.8.97 and arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping. The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which are executed when users access the compromised pages.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users can update to GeoDirectory version 2.8.98 or a newer patched version to address this vulnerability.
