A time-based SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the GamiPress WordPress plugin, specifically in versions through 7.3.1. The issue arises from inadequate escaping of user-supplied data in the 'orderby' parameter, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject additional SQL queries. This exploitation could lead to the extraction of sensitive information from the database.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for time-based SQL injection, where an attacker can manipulate SQL queries to extract data from the database.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a request to the 'gamipress_get_logs' AJAX endpoint with a crafted 'orderby' parameter. The 'orderby' parameter should be manipulated to include additional SQL commands that exploit the injection flaw, taking advantage of the insufficient input sanitization.
Users are advised to update the GamiPress WordPress plugin to version 7.3.2 or later.
