LTL Freight Quotes – XPO Edition WordPress Plugin SQL Injection Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the LTL Freight Quotes – XPO Edition plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 4.3.7. The vulnerability arises from inadequate escaping of user-supplied parameters in the SQL query, specifically the 'edit_id' and 'dropship_edit_id' parameters. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to inject additional SQL commands into existing queries, potentially leading to the extraction of sensitive information from the database.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, where an attacker can manipulate SQL queries to access or modify database information. In this case, it could be used to extract sensitive data from the database.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, send a request to a WordPress site with the vulnerable LTL Freight Quotes – XPO Edition plugin installed. Include the 'edit_id' or 'dropship_edit_id' parameters with the request. The injected SQL could be crafted to, for example, extract data from the 'woocommerce_api_keys' table, which contains sensitive information about user permissions and API access.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the LTL Freight Quotes – XPO Edition WordPress plugin to version 4.3.8 or later.
