LTL Freight Quotes WordPress Plugin Unauthenticated SQL Injection Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the LTL Freight Quotes – GlobalTranz Edition plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 2.3.11. The vulnerability arises from inadequate escaping of user-supplied parameters and insufficient preparation of the SQL query in the 'engtz_wd_save_dropship' AJAX endpoint. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to inject additional SQL queries into existing ones, potentially leading to the extraction of sensitive information from the database.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, where an attacker can manipulate SQL queries to access or modify database information. In this case, it could be used to extract sensitive data from the database.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, send a request to the 'engtz_wd_save_dropship' AJAX endpoint with a payload that includes unsanitized data. The injected SQL could then be used to extract information from the database.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the LTL Freight Quotes – GlobalTranz Edition plugin to version 2.3.12 or later.
