A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the WP Inventory Manager plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 2.3.2. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts could be executed if a user is tricked into clicking a link that contains the malicious payload.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.
To reproduce this vulnerability, send a request to a page that uses the WP Inventory Manager plugin, including a 'message' parameter with the injected script. The script will be executed if the user clicks the link containing the 'message' parameter.
Users are advised to update the WP Inventory Manager plugin to version 2.3.3 or a newer patched version.
