Gravity Forms Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Gravity Forms plugin for WordPress, affecting versions 2.9.0.1 prior to 2.9.1.3. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts execute when a user accesses the compromised page. Notably, this vulnerability only affects users of the Chrome web browser and requires direct access to the media file through the attachment post.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Gravity Forms plugin to version 2.9.2 or a newer patched version.
