A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the BMLT Meeting Map plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 2.6.1. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes in the 'bmlt_meeting_map' shortcode. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts into pages, which are executed when users access the affected page.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.
To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with contributor-level access or higher can insert a script into a page using the 'bmlt_meeting_map' shortcode. Once the page is saved, the injected script will execute whenever the page is viewed.
No known patch is available. It is recommended to uninstall the affected plugin and find a replacement.
