Essential Blocks WordPress Plugin Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Essential Blocks – Page Builder Gutenberg Blocks, Patterns & Templates plugin for WordPress. This issue affects all versions through 5.0.9 and arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in the Google Maps block. The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with administrator-level access to inject arbitrary scripts into pages, which are executed when users view the affected page. This vulnerability is present only in multi-site installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users can update to version 5.1.1 or a newer patched version to address this vulnerability.
