Nagios XI Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in Core Command Expansion Page

Vulnerability

A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in Nagios XI versions prior to 2024R1.0.2. The issue arises from insufficient validation or escaping of user-supplied input on the Nagios Core Command Expansion page, allowing attackers to inject and execute arbitrary scripts in the context of the victim's browser.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user's browser.

Remediation

Users are advised to upgrade to Nagios XI version 2024R1.0.2 or later.
