Linux Kernel SUNRPC Server Shutdown Leak Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's SUNRPC implementation has been addressed, which involved a server shutdown leak. This issue created a race condition where the kthread_stop() function could prevent the associated thread function from executing. As a result, the svc_rqst request would not be properly cleaned up, potentially leading to resource leaks.

Impact

The vulnerability could cause resource leaks by failing to clean up request structures after a server shutdown, which may lead to increased memory usage or exhaustion of available resources.
