Linux Kernel OcteonTX2 Virtual Function Memory Leak Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A memory leak vulnerability has been addressed in the Linux kernel's OcteonTX2 virtual function (VF) driver. The issue arose because the allocated 'vf->hw.lmt_info' was not properly freed, leading to a memory leak. This oversight has been corrected by adding the 'free_percpu' function for the VF allocation, mirroring the existing cleanup for the physical function (PF) in the same driver.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to a memory leak, causing increased memory usage and potentially degrading system performance over time.
