Linux Kernel STMBUF_HALF Interrupt Handling Vulnerability in IMX JPEG Driver

Vulnerability

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's IMX JPEG driver has been addressed by modifying how certain interrupts are managed. A hardware issue could cause the STMBUF_HALF interrupt to trigger improperly, either after or during the process of disabling interrupts, potentially leading to a kernel panic. The STMBUF_HALF and STMBUF_RTND interrupts were found to be ineffective, prompting their deactivation along with other unused interrupts. The change also includes clearing the interrupt status when interrupts are disabled.

Impact

The vulnerability could cause an unexpected kernel panic, disrupting system operations.
