A vulnerability in the Linux kernel related to the Userfaultfd write-protection feature has been addressed. When the PTE_MARKER_UFFD_WP option is not enabled, the kernel can still encounter code related to this feature, leading to a warning. The issue has been fixed by adding conditional compilation directives to prevent the code from being executed when PTE_MARKER_UFFD_WP is not available.
The vulnerability could cause unnecessary warnings to be triggered, which might obscure other important messages in the system log.
Users can upgrade to the latest version of the Linux kernel where this vulnerability has been fixed. Instructions for upgrading the Linux kernel can be found in the official Linux documentation or through the package management system of the respective Linux distribution.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
