Linux Kernel Refcount Leak Vulnerability in MTD Partition Handling

Vulnerability

A refcount leak vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel's MTD (Memory Technology Device) partition management. The issue arises in the function 'parse_redboot_ofof_get_child_by_name()', which returns a node pointer with an incremented reference count. If the pointer is not needed anymore, the reference count should be decremented using 'of_node_put()' to prevent the leak. The vulnerability has been addressed by adding the missing 'of_node_put()' call.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to a refcount leak, causing memory management issues.
