A refcount leak vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel's remoteproc subsystem, specifically within the imx_rproc component. The issue arises in the imx_rproc_addr_initof_parse_phandle() function, which returns a node pointer with an incremented reference count. Two execution paths in this function fail to release the reference when the node is no longer needed, leading to a memory management issue.
Exploitation of this vulnerability causes a memory refcount leak, which can lead to improper memory management and potential memory-related vulnerabilities.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
