A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's handling of MCAM entries for the OcteonTX2 AF component has been addressed. The issue arose in the FLR handler's teardown sequence, which could prematurely exit if no NIX LF was attached to PF/VF, suggesting that resources had already been gracefully shut down. This created a risk that not all allocated MCAM entries would be properly freed. The vulnerability has been resolved by ensuring that MCAM entries are released even when the LF is detached.
The vulnerability could lead to a resource leak, where allocated MCAM entries are not properly freed, potentially causing memory management issues.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
