Linux Kernel GICv3 IRQ Chip Refcount Leak Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A refcount leak vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel's GICv3 IRQ chip handling. The issue arises in the 'gic_populate_ppi_partitionsof_find_node_by_phandle()' function, which returns a node pointer with an incremented reference count. Failure to release this reference properly can lead to a memory management issue. The vulnerability has been addressed by adding the missing 'of_node_put()' call to prevent the refcount leak.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to a refcount leak, causing potential memory management issues.
