A refcount leak vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel's Realtek RTL IRQ chip handling. The issue arises in the 'map_interrupts_of_find_node_by_phandle()' function, which returns a node pointer with an incremented reference count. The vulnerability occurs because the function fails to decrement the reference count in the error path. To address this, 'of_node_put()' should be called immediately after 'of_property_read_u32()' to properly manage the reference count in both normal and error scenarios.
Exploitation of this vulnerability leads to a refcount leak, which can cause memory management issues such as use-after-free vulnerabilities or memory corruption.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
