A data race vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel's sysctl interface, specifically within the 'proc_douintvec()' function. This vulnerability arises because sysctl variables can be accessed concurrently, leading to potential load/store tearing. The issue has been addressed by modifying 'proc_douintvec()' to use 'READ_ONCE()' and 'WRITE_ONCE()' for internal data handling, thereby mitigating the data race on the sysctl side. While 'proc_douintvec()' itself can currently tolerate a data race, further annotations are needed for other subsystems.
Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to data corruption due to concurrent access to sysctl variables, causing load/store tearing.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
