Linux Kernel Refcount Leak Vulnerability in ARM HiSilicon

Vulnerability

A refcount leak vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel's ARM HiSilicon architecture. The issue arises because the function 'of_find_compatible_node' increments the reference count of the returned 'device_node'. Failing to call 'of_node_put()' results in a memory leak. This vulnerability has been addressed by adding the necessary 'of_node_put()' call to prevent the refcount leak.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to a memory leak, causing increased memory usage and potential degradation of system performance over time.
