A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's powerpc/papr_scm component has been addressed, concerning a memory leak of elements in the nvdimm_events_map. During the event checking process, allocated 'stat_id' elements were not properly freed, leading to a memory leak. Additionally, the 'stat_id' identifiers were fixed-size, non-null-terminated strings, causing assumptions in the code that could lead to further issues. The vulnerability has been fixed by properly managing the memory allocation for the events map, ensuring that 'stat_id' entries are correctly handled and freeing individual elements is no longer necessary.
Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to a memory leak, causing increased memory usage and potential degradation of system performance.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
