A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's PowerPC architecture can lead to corruption of the user r13 register. This issue arises during the treclaim and trechkpt processes, where a SLB miss can occur. The SLB miss causes the user r13 value to be overwritten with a kernel r13 value, which is then incorrectly stored or recheckpointed. The vulnerability requires a specific timing to exploit, making it highly unlikely but possible under certain conditions.
Exploitation of this vulnerability can cause incorrect values to be stored in user registers, potentially leading to unintended behavior in user-space applications.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
