A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ath11k module management has been identified, which can cause a kernel panic during the unloading and loading of ath11k modules. This issue arises after several iterations of module unloading and loading, leading to a failure in handling kernel paging requests. The vulnerability has been observed in the IPQ8074 hardware platform, specifically with the AHB WLAN driver.
The vulnerability causes a kernel panic, disrupting system operations by halting the kernel's processes and potentially leading to a system crash.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by repeatedly unloading and loading the ath11k modules. This process can be initiated using the 'insmod' command to load the module and 'rmmod' to unload it. After a few iterations, the kernel panic will occur, indicating the vulnerability has been successfully triggered.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
