A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in NBMonitor version 1.6.8. This issue allows attackers to crash the application by overflowing the registration code input field. By pasting a 256-character buffer into the registration key field, the application can be forced to crash, potentially leading to system instability.
Exploitation of this vulnerability causes the application to crash, which could disrupt any ongoing tasks or processes within the application. Additionally, such crashes can lead to broader system instability, depending on the application's integration with other system components.
To reproduce this vulnerability, first copy a 256-character string into the clipboard. Then, open NBMonitor 1.6.8 and navigate to the registration section. Enter a name in the 'Name' field and paste the clipboard content into the 'Key' field. Click 'Ok' to trigger the application crash.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
