Nagios XI Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability via BPI Config ID Handling

Vulnerability

A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in Nagios XI versions prior to 5.8.0. The issue arises from inadequate validation or escaping of user-supplied input in the Business Process Intelligence (BPI) configuration ID handling. This flaw may enable an attacker to inject and execute arbitrary scripts in the context of the victim's browser.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to Nagios XI version 5.8.0 or later to address this vulnerability.
