P5 FNIP-8x16A and FNIP-4xSH Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in P5 FNIP-8x16A and FNIP-4xSH relay modules, specifically in versions 1.0.20 and 1.0.11. The vulnerability arises because input from several GET and POST parameters is not properly sanitized before being displayed to users. This flaw allows attackers to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in the context of the affected site, potentially leading to session hijacking or other malicious actions.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user's session on the affected site.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, log into the application and navigate to the label modification feature in 'config.html'. Submit a crafted input through the 'lab4' parameter that includes a script, such as a JavaScript 'confirm' function. The injected script will be executed when the label is viewed, demonstrating the cross-site scripting vulnerability.
