Nagios XI Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in Dashboard Background Color Settings

Vulnerability

A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in Nagios XI versions prior to 5.7.2. The issue arises from insufficient validation of user-supplied input in the background color settings of dashboards. This flaw allows an attacker to inject and execute arbitrary scripts in the context of the victim's browser.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to Nagios XI version 5.7.2 or later to address this vulnerability.
