Fast AVI MPEG Joiner Buffer Overflow Denial-of-Service Vulnerability
Vulnerability
A buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in Fast AVI MPEG Joiner version 1.2.0812. This vulnerability allows local attackers to crash the application by entering an excessively large payload in the License Name field. To exploit this, an attacker can create a text file with 6000 bytes of data, paste it into the License Name input, and click the Register button, which triggers a denial-of-service condition.
Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability leads to a denial-of-service condition, causing the application to crash.
Reproduction
The vulnerability can be reproduced by pasting a 6000-byte payload into the License Name field of the Fast AVI MPEG Joiner application version 1.2.0812. After pasting the payload, clicking the Register button will cause the application to crash.
