Comodo Dome Firewall Reflected Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Comodo Dome Firewall version 2.7.0. This vulnerability allows attackers to inject malicious scripts by crafting input for the protocol parameter. Exploitation involves sending POST requests to the QoS rules management endpoint with JavaScript payloads in the protocol parameter, which can execute arbitrary code in the browsers of administrators.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, send a POST request to the '/manage/qos/rules/' endpoint with a crafted 'protocol' parameter that includes a JavaScript payload, such as a script tag with an alert function. This will trigger the cross-site scripting vulnerability by executing the injected script in the administrator's browser.
