SysGauge Buffer Overflow Vulnerability Leading to Local Denial-of-Service

A buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in SysGauge version 4.5.18, specifically within the proxy configuration handler. This vulnerability allows local attackers to cause a denial-of-service by sending an oversized string through the Proxy Server Host Name field in the Options menu, which can crash the application.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, select the Manual proxy configuration option under the Options menu. Then, paste a large payload into the 'Proxy Server Host Name' field and click Save. The application will crash, demonstrating the denial-of-service condition.
