Microsoft FastTube Denial-of-Service Vulnerability

A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in Microsoft FastTube version 1.0.1.0. This vulnerability allows local attackers to crash the application by sending an excessively long string to the search feature. By pasting a buffer of 1900 characters into the search bar and executing the search, the application crashes.

Impact

Exploiting this vulnerability leads to a crash of the FastTube application, causing a denial-of-service condition.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, paste a string of 1900 characters into the search bar of Microsoft FastTube version 1.0.1.0. When the search operation is executed, the application will crash.
