Nagios XI Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in Reports Interface

Vulnerability

A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in Nagios XI versions prior to 5.2.4. The issue arises in the Reports interface, where user-supplied input in the startdate and enddate fields is not properly validated or escaped. This allows an attacker to inject and execute arbitrary scripts in the context of the victim's browser.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to Nagios XI version 5.2.4 or later to address this vulnerability.
