Nagios XI Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability via xiwindow Variables

Vulnerability

A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in Nagios XI versions prior to 2011R1.9. The issue arises from the handling of xiwindow variables, which are used to create permalinks in the web interface. Insufficient validation or escaping of user-supplied input allows for the injection and execution of arbitrary scripts in the context of the victim's browser.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to Nagios XI version 2011R1.9 or later to address this vulnerability.
